Sky-Watcher Heritage and Tabletop Telescopes
In 1609, Galileo Galilei first looked through his telescope, and changed science forever. His discoveries provided solid evidence that disproved the prevailing belief that the Earth was the centre of the Universe. Throughout history, scientists such as Johannes Kepler and Sir Isaac Newton further revolutionised the design of the telescope. To celebrate the International Year of Astronomy 2009, Sky-Watcher had presented two special commemorative editions as a tribute to this rich ‘heritage’.
The Heritiage range was then followed by Virtuoso range- truly grab-and-go telescopes.
The Virtuoso™ mount provides a stable platform and will track night sky objects automatically once located. The telescope can be slewed automatically in both axes, at five different speeds, via the mount’s electronic keypad.
A great feature of the Virtuoso™ is the patented Freedom-Find™ dual-encoder technology which also allows the telescope to be moved manually in either axis without losing its alignment or positional information, giving the user enormous convenience and flexibility during observing sessions.
Furthermore, the Virtuoso™ mount can be upgraded to GoTo by purchasing a Synscan™ AZ GoTo handset and cable, allowing 42,900+ night sky objects to be automatically found from its extensive database.
